Position Overview: The Specialist in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at BRB Hospitals Limited plays a crucial role in providing specialized medical care and support to critically ill patients. This position requires expert medical knowledge, clinical skills, and a commitment to ensuring optimal patient outcomes within the ICU.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Provide specialized medical care to critically ill patients within the ICU.
  • Assess patient conditions, diagnose medical issues, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Administer advanced medical procedures, interventions, and medications as required.

Medical Expertise:

  • Offer expert guidance to medical teams regarding complex cases and critical patient management.
  • Stay updated with the latest medical advancements, guidelines, and research related to critical care medicine.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including consultants, nurses, and other medical staff, to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Participate in medical rounds, case discussions, and contribute insights to enhance patient care protocols.

Emergency Response:

  • Lead the response to medical emergencies, providing immediate medical interventions and coordinating with the emergency team.
  • Make rapid clinical decisions in high-pressure situations.

Patient Monitoring:

  • Continuously monitor patient conditions using advanced monitoring tools and equipment.
  • Adjust treatment plans and interventions based on patient response and changing medical needs.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes.
  • Ensure proper documentation of medical procedures and interventions.

Education and Training:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior medical staff, residents, and medical students within the ICU.
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance team members’ critical care knowledge.

Patient Attendant Counseling:

  • Professionally communicate with patient attendants, providing information about patient conditions, treatment plans, and progress.
  • Offer emotional support and address concerns and queries from patient attendants.

Quality Improvement:

  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by analyzing patient outcomes, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing solutions.
  • Participate in clinical audits and research projects related to critical care medicine.

Requirements:

  • MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
  • Post-Graduation degree (MD/FCPS) in Critical Care Medicine or relevant specialty.
  • Registration with the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).
  • Proven experience in critical care medicine, preferably in an ICU setting.
  • Strong clinical acumen and proficiency in advanced medical procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and medical staff.
  • Ability to remain composed and make informed decisions in high-stress situations.

Age: 45 years (Maximum)
